Basic First Aid Training for Carers

Herefordshire Carers Support has partnered with Kemble Care to offer all registered Carers free Basic First Aid training.
The courses will be run by qualified practitioners from Kemble Training, a Hereford based City & Guilds accredited training company.

This course will enable Carers to minimise the risks arising from health emergencies, summon help & give adequate and efficient First Aid to a casualty.
It will show Carers how to deal with accidents and injuries particularly common in the elderly and other groups of people with special needs and requirements.
You’ll cover things like:

• Roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
• Assessment of an incident
• Dealing with unconscious casualties
• Resuscitation (CPR)
• Wounds and bleeding
• Choking
• Shock
• Burns
• Infection Control
• The importance of hand hygiene
• First Aid Kit
