A Parent Carer

Coffee Club for Parent Carers 2016 V1 A4Herefordshire Carers Support is a local charitable organisation which supports unpaid family Carers and offer a FREE Information and Support for all local Parent Carers.

What is a Parent Carer?

Parent Carers are Parents who provide care and support to a child under 18 who is ill, has a disability or any additional needs.

Perhaps you don’t think of yourself as a ‘Carer’?

You may see yourself as the mother, father, husband, wife, son, daughter or friend of someone who needs care, simply trying to do your best for someone you love, or perhaps doing what no-one else can or will do.

Herefordshire Carers Support provide advice, information, training, emotional and practical support for Carers of all ages; children, parents and older people who care for someone with a long term health condition or illness.

Everyone needs help and back-up at some point. If you’re not sure what kind of support you need or whether you need support at all, please get in touch.

We offer:

Carers Groups (for Parent Carers)

A friendly atmosphere to give Parent Carers the opportunity to chat with others in a similar situation. Groups meet during term time, at various locations across the county.

Parent Connect Befriending Scheme

Putting you in touch with other Parents who have had similar experiences. Befrienders are fully trained to enable them to give the best possible support. Our Parent Connect befriending service is informal, flexible and free.

Independent Support

Support and information for families with a child or young person going through the Education Health and Care plan process. Access specially trained staff who can give you 1:1 support.

Parent Carer Voice

A forum of Parent Carers to influence services by sharing the issues they are facing with people who can do something about it.
