Welcome to Herefordshire Carers Support
Looking after someone can be tough, but you are not on your own. We are here to listen, to give information and advice tailored to you.
We aim to open up possibilities so that you can continue your caring responsibilities but also to
take stock.
Each Carer is individual and different, what helps one person may not help another but we will help you to explore ideas and think about what might help you.
No-one is super-human and all Carers need help, support and back-up at some point. If you’re not sure what kind of support you need or whether you need support at all, please get in touch.
Adult Carer Groups
Herefordshire Carers Support’s groups welcome all unpaid Carers in Herefordshire to come along and meet other Carers and access information and support which might help them in their caring role.
Around one in eight members of your community could be caring at any given time. These numbers will be higher if you have older people or women in your community.
Many people with caring responsibilities don’t think of themselves as carers, and they can often miss out on advice and information.
At groups we:
- Talk about caring for relatives and close friends
- Provide advise, information and a listening ear
- Invite other charities and local support services along to talk to the group about caring
We recognise that some carers might have difficulty attending meetings or taking part in activities. If there is something stopping you attending, please let us know and we will do out best to get you to group.
We run a variety of events and trips across Herefordshire and even if you are not yet registered as a Carer with Herefordshire Carers Support please don’t let that put you off; this can easily be done at the group, online or over the phone on 01432 356068.
Once registered, you will receive your ‘I Count card’ which can be used to get discounts on a range of products, services and entrance charges and our quarterly ‘Keeping in Touch’ magazine which offers tips and up-to-date information.
