What you need to know to support the person you care for if they lack capacity in relation to their care and treatment
This session aims to explain the following:
- How you and your family can plan for the future in case you or a family member loses capacity to make decisions for themselves.
- What happens if you, or a family member are unable to make decisions about care and treatment and decisions have to be made on your or their behalf.
- What happens if you, or a family member have to be given care or treatment that they are unable to agree to, but which might result in restrictions in their freedom.
- What are your rights under the Mental Capacity Act.
- Who can give you help and advice about mental capacity issues
